Above is a Citroen Saxo VTR. The
vehicle has damage on the O/S/F and is subsequently classed as a
category C. It would appear impact was on the N/S/F corner of the car
thus damaging the headlight, wing and bonnet. There are scratches on the
bumper but this is re-usable. The radiator is leaking so attention in
this area will also be required. Air bags have not been
deployed. I have taken photographs of the chassis rail behind the N/S/F
headlamp and as you can see this is untouched, there is no damage. All
the damage is of a cosmetic nature and repairs are minimal and swift.
When the car was collected the battery was flat, however it started
promptly with jump leads. The
car comes fitted with a Toad alarm system which is fully operational.
The remote control also operates the central locking. The vehicle
is equipped with power steering, electric windows, sunroof etc. Because
of the damage I am unable to road test this vehicle. Once it is
roadworthy I don't foresee there being any mechanical issues. There are
no problems starting the engine, and once started you get the feeling
that there is a lot of power under the bonnet. All gears engage without
crunching and the clutch takes up smoothly. Footbrake is solid and the
hand brake secures the vehicle when stationary. There is no spare wheel
available. A check on the DVLA
website shows this car still has a valid road fund licence. It is
possible that MOT and tax disc could be acquired as duplicates. |
