Here we have a Vauxhall Astra DL 16 valve. This car has a fault which I will detail further down. It was first registered in April 1999 and the general condition of this car is very good.  Service history is in the way of all previous MOT's since the first one which was due in 2002 up until present. The current MOT is valid until April 2010. The logbook (V5) is available and is showing that this vehicle has had 2 previous owners. A receipt is among the paperwork showing that this vehicle had a full service last April and subsequently passed the MOT at the same time.

The interior is clean and the upholstery is in good condition with no marks or tears. As you can see in the photos the bodywork is in good condition. The mileage is showing 93000 which nothing for a diesel engine car of this calibre. The mileage can be guaranteed as it corresponds with all the MOT certificates.

The fault with this car is that the engine will not run above idle speed. The car can be difficult to start, once running was connected to a diagnostics interrogator which showed that there was no fault code stored in the ECU memory neither were there any pending codes. Further investigation was carried out and if you look at the graph it shows that the throttle position (blue tracer)  was changed at various intervals from idle to 100% full throttle, however throughout these changes the engine speed (red tracer) remained the same.  Once the car warms up and the radiator fan cuts in the engine will struggle momentarily then return to normal idle speed, in fact when  any large electrical load is drawn causing alternator drag the engine behaves in this manner for a few seconds. My conclusion is there is problem with the diesel pump in that the fuel pressure is incorrect above idle speed. There seems to be adequate delivery at low rpm but when pressing the throttle the demand is not met. Once this fault is rectified you will have a very good car. Delivery can be arranged if so required.

I have described the car as accurately as I can. If you have any questions please call or email me.
